Application Requests?
What sort of things would you like to see in the next few months? Here are a few ideas I’ve seen so far:
- Chemistry application (useful for highschool/college kids, perhaps?).
- Blockbuster.com application (to rival Netflix).
- Mint.com application.
- Box.net application.
- TV/DVR scheduler.
What other things would be useful to have running on Android?

I would like to announce the upgrade to my old Tip Calculator! The 1.1 release is now Donut friendly! I have also made some minor UI changes based off of user comments from the Android Market. I would like to announce the upgrade to my old Tip Calculator! The 1.0.2 release is now Cupcake friendly (yes, a little old, but I haven’t been able to do much of anything since before the 1.5 release). It also got a little UI rearrangement as I have had my application localized into several languages.

I read a really well put-together article this morning regarding marketing paid apps for Android. I liked how the author compared the Android Market to a catalog. The dynamics of the Android Market are quite different as compared to the iTunes App Store, so it’s really hard to make comparisons there. One commenter mentioned that

Please, enough with the whole “iPhone is far superior to Android/G1″ schtick. People should really stop moaning about how less capable Android is than the iPhone firmware/software, it’s getting a little old. And for those who base their opinions solely upon the downsides of the G1, here’s some news: there will be some handsets coming

An app to listen to 93.3 WMMR would be awsome !!! Its not right that the iPhone has one, G1 doesn’t. I’ve been a loyal listener of 93.3 WMMR since 1982, and I feel stabbed in the back by WMMR that they made an app for iPhone and not for G1 !! They should have released an app for both at the same time !! The G1 is a better phone than iPhone !! Someone PLEASE make a G1 app to listen to 93.3 WMMR !! PLEASE !!!

I’d love to see on Android an app that can hang up any call when a specific period of time goes… I live in Mexico and I have a plan with my cell company in which I have to hang up every 5 minutes if I want to avoid extra charges (in addition to the monthly fee) for calling to 10 numbers.
I even would pay for it. I saw an app that can do that called “auto hang up” but running on Symbian. So far, I haven’t found something like that in Android. I’m even considering to learn about programming just to make this app that I need, but I saw your post and I can’t resist it! I had to tell you!
